The Human Concerns Ministry seeks to lead St. Edward's parishioners in the fulfillment of the Gospel call to love of neighbor and the Church's call to action on behalf of justice. The Human Concerns Ministry seeks opportunities to respond to the needs of the deprived, disabled, neglected, incarcerated and oppressed in the parish, in our community and in the world at large. Of equal importance, we promote legislative advocacy for a consistent ethic of life including the rights of the unborn; we also promote advocacy seeking economic and political justice for the oppressed and empowerment of the marginalized in our society. Green Envelope for Human Concerns: are provided monthly to parishioners to support this ministry. The Human Concerns Committee meets monthly in the Parish Center on the second Tuesday at 7 pm. It is the umbrella for all of the ministries and subcommittees listed below and also has the following responsibilities:

Please mark your calendars for Haiti Solidarity weekend June 2/3. You will have an opportunity to hear stories and see videos of the trip as well as the many ways you are blessing the families of Holy Family.
We are excited that Fr. Kesner Joseph and Dr. Job Antoine (the physician who ministers to our people in Cerca Carvajal) will be visiting us from June 2-6 and you will have the opportunity to visit with them as well. Special Olympics of Virginia (SOVA) Area 6 will be sponsoring our 3rd Annual SOVA Miler Training Team and SOVA Miler Race this summer - and we invite your runner to join the fun! On May 26-27 we will be holding our 6th Annual Parish Baby Shower. Mark your calendars! St. Edward Knights of Columbus Council 6546 and St. Edward Justice and Peace Ministry invite all parishioners to attend our 6th Annual Parish Baby Shower to join us for FREE cake, FREE punch, and FREE balloons. We will be collecting new items for Bethany Christian Services, a Christ-centered, pro- life, adoption and family services agency in Richmond.
